In May of 1992, Michael Miller was named Head Basketball coach at Los Angeles City College, by former Director of Athletics and Cub legend Jack Boyer. Since then he has completely rebuilt LACC's program into a nationally known basketball power. While doing this, Miller has become the winningest coach in LACC history in every measurable category. Miller's LACC teams have won over 80% of their games during his tenure, including FOUR STRAIGHT 30 WIN SEASONS. However, he is most proud of producing over FORTY DIVISION ONE players; which ranks first in the entire state during that period of time.

Because of the remarkable success coach Miller has had at LACC, he has become known as one of the youngest and most successful college head coaches in the entire country. Before coming to LACC, Coach Miller experienced great success as a high school coach at Ribet Academy and Cathedral High School. As the head coach at Ribet Academy (Los Angeles, CA), Miller led them to unprecedented success as they captured two consecutive CIF Championships and a Division V State Championship. At Cathedral HS (Los Angeles, CA), a young coach Miller led the "Phantoms" to the best two year record in the seventy-five year history of the school. This included two league titles and two CIF Final Four appearances.

In his four years as a high school head coach, Miller attained the third highest winning percentage in California high school history. Coach Miller has been honored as 'Coach of the Year' fourteen times in his fifteen seasons as a head coach at both the high school and college levels and has coached SEVEN teams to 30 or more wins. Coach Miller is the first coach in California basketball history to win a State Championship at both the high school (1990-91 at Ribet Academy) and college levels (1996-97 at LACC).

Additionally, Miller is the only active coach in California to own two State Championships (1997 & 2003). Coach Miller is 40 years old and is a native of Los Angeles. He attended Glendale Community College then CSULA graduating with a BA in English. He received his Master's Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University.
