    2002-2003 American Guitar Society International Concert Series

    Time: Saturday, 9-2:20 pm

    In this class we cover the following major Internet Services:

    • E-mail
    • WWW & Search Engines
    • Listservs/Newsgroups
    • MyYahoo/IM/Net2Phone
    • FTP/PDF

    In addition to the above, we explore the programming language HTML and each student creates a homepage to be published. Finally, we may cover, if time permits, other Internet Services such as IRC, Netmeeting and Blogs.

    Requirements

    This is not a beginning class. You should be familiar with the window environment; namely, saving a file, opening and closing a file, printing a document, starting and exiting a program, understanding directories, deleting a file, creating a folder, cutting, copying and pasting, minimizing and maximizing a window, scrolling, recognizing file extensions, using menus, using the mouse: dragging, clicking, and double clicking.
